Our sixth film club meeting!

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

We watched the comedy movie Accepted on April 4, 2023. We chose this movie because recently at dinner we were talking with our friends about an idea to build a school, and we had some ideas about what and how we would like to improve our current school, so we were all interested in the topic of building a school. So I thought of this movie.

I first watched this movie when I was a kid, and I especially liked watching it on my iPad then as I do now. I was very impressed with the movie because it was very funny and very unrealistic. The main characters in the movie have an idea to create a fake college to fool their parents because they have not received a college acceptance letter and their parents want them to go to college. When the protagonists finished building the school, they thought it was just a place where they could play games, but they didn't expect that the fake website they built actually accepted a bunch of students who were not admitted to other universities which were just like them. The protagonists originally felt they should clarify to them that this is a fake university, but looking at those students like themselves, they were determined to give everyone a chance to fulfill their college dreams.

Not to mention that the movie's hilarious plot was well shot and all of us laughed out loud a lot, I think this movie is a good example for us high school students who want to go to a good college. I started the first day of school in ninth grade when my teacher asked me what I wanted to do in the future, The only thing I wrote down was to go to a college. At that time, I had not yet determined my dream, but my childhood education told me that no matter what my dream is, I must go to a college, preferably a good one. I never thought about what I would do if I couldn't get into a college, and I thought I might not have the ability to build a real college just like the protagonists, so I couldn't do much if I didn't get into a college. I used to think that if I didn't have a college to go to, my life would be over because going to a college was a necessary step that couldn't be skipped. But this movie has shaken my thoughts, even if I did not get into college, or any unsatisfactory things in life, once it happens we can not go back to the past and change, the only thing we can do is to do well now, even if we fail, do not give up, everything still has a chance, as long as I am willing to fight. As long as we work hard and don't give up on our dreams, All unrealistic things may come true, and everything I want will be gained by my own efforts.
